Entity Workspace

The Entity Workspace is where you do focused compliance work on a specific entity (such as a well or lease) within a specific domain (such as Rule 37 or Rule 32). It uses a three-panel layout that combines a structured checklist, a flexible work area, and a scoped AI agent.

Opening the Workspace

You can reach the entity workspace in several ways:

  • From the Compliance Matrix — Click any colored status cell to open the workspace for that entity and domain.
  • From the row actions menu — Click the three-dot menu on any matrix row and select “Start Filing.”
  • From the Entity Explorer — Navigate to an entity detail page and select a compliance domain.

Three-Panel Layout

The workspace is divided into three resizable panels:

Left Panel: Checklist

The checklist panel shows the ordered steps required for the compliance workflow. Each item represents a task — such as gathering well data, running a spacing calculation, drafting a narrative, or assembling a form.

Item status icons:

  • A grey circle indicates the item has not been started
  • A blue circle indicates the item is in progress
  • A green checkmark indicates the item is complete
  • A red indicator means there is an issue that needs attention

Click any checklist item to load its content in the center work area.

Center Panel: Work Area

The work area adapts its content based on the selected checklist item. Depending on the item type, you may see:

  • Data tables — Structured data about the entity, such as well properties, offset well distances, or production history. Some tables support inline editing.
  • Document editor — A rich text editor for drafting narratives, good-cause arguments, or other written documents.
  • Form preview — A read-only preview of the RRC form being assembled, with fields color-coded to show which are complete and which still need data.
  • Artifact viewer — Generated documents, PDFs, or other outputs from the AI agent.

Right Panel: Scoped Agent

The agent panel provides a chat interface with the AI agent that is scoped to this specific entity and domain. This means the agent has full context about the entity you are working on and the compliance domain.

The agent panel can be collapsed to give more room to the work area. Click the collapse control to hide or show it.

Resizing Panels

You can drag the borders between panels to resize them. This lets you give more space to the work area when reviewing data, or expand the agent panel when having a longer conversation.

Working Through the Checklist

A typical compliance workflow follows these steps:

  1. Open the workspace for the entity and domain you need to address.
  2. Review the checklist to understand the required steps.
  3. Click the first item to load its content in the work area.
  4. Work through each item in order. Some items may require manual input, while others are populated by the AI agent.
  5. Use the agent panel to ask questions, request calculations, or have the agent draft content.
  6. Move to the next item when the current one is complete.
  7. Submit the filing when all checklist items are done and the package is ready for review.

All filing packages must go through human-in-the-loop review before submission to the RRC. The workspace will prompt you to submit for review when the checklist is complete.

Agent Context

The AI agent in the workspace panel is context-locked to the entity and domain you are working on. It has access to:

  • All data about the current entity from the knowledge graph
  • The current state of the checklist
  • Any artifacts or documents already generated
  • Historical compliance data for this entity

This focused context means the agent’s responses are directly relevant to the task at hand, without you needing to explain the background each time.

Returning to the Dashboard

Use the breadcrumb navigation at the top of the workspace or click Compliance in the sidebar to return to the compliance dashboard.
