Flaring Dashboard

The Flaring Dashboard provides a dedicated view of your portfolio’s flaring activity, R-32 authorization compliance, and predictive alerts. It brings together volume data, utilization metrics, and forecasting in a single page.

Summary Cards

Four summary cards across the top give you an instant overview:

CardWhat It Measures
Active R-32 AuthsThe number of wells with active (non-expired) R-32 flaring authorizations, plus the total number of tracked wells
Expiring Within 30dHow many authorizations expire in the next 30 days and need renewal action
Volume Alerts (>80%)Wells where reported flaring exceeds 80% of their authorized maximum volume
Days Warnings (>150d)Wells that have used 150 or more of their 180 cumulative authorized flaring days

Cards turn amber or red when their counts indicate issues needing attention.

Flare Intelligence Panels

Below the summary cards, three intelligence panels provide detailed insights:

Burn Rate Panel

Shows how quickly you are consuming your permitted flaring allowances across the portfolio. This helps you plan ahead for renewals and identify wells burning through their authorizations faster than expected.

Active Flare Events

Lists currently active flaring events, with status indicators showing which wells are actively flaring right now.

Repair Obligations

Tracks outstanding repair obligations for flaring-related equipment and infrastructure. Helps ensure you meet regulatory repair timelines.

R-32 Authorization Portfolio

The main data table lists every well being tracked for flaring compliance:

ColumnWhat It Shows
Well / LeaseThe well name and its associated lease
R-32 IDThe RRC authorization identification number
Auth MCF/dThe maximum authorized flaring volume in MCF per day
Reported MCF/dThe actual reported flaring volume
TrendA small sparkline chart showing the volume trend over recent periods
UtilizationA progress bar showing what percentage of the authorized volume is being used
DaysDays of flaring used out of the 180-day authorized period
ExpirationThe date the R-32 authorization expires
StatusColor-coded status badge

Status Values

StatusColorMeaning
CompliantGreenWithin authorized limits with comfortable margin
WarningAmberApproaching authorized limits (volume or days)
CriticalRedVery close to or at authorized limits; immediate action needed
ExpiredRedAuthorization has expired or no active authorization exists

Table Features

  • Search — Filter the table by well name, API number, or lease name
  • Sort — Click column headers to sort by any column (multi-column sorting supported)
  • Column visibility — Toggle columns on or off to customize your view

Charts

Two visualization panels appear below the portfolio table:

Monthly Flaring Volume vs Permitted

A bar chart showing your total monthly flaring volume over the past six months, with a red dashed reference line indicating the permitted maximum. This makes it easy to see whether your total portfolio flaring is trending up or down relative to limits.

Permit Utilization by Well

A horizontal bar chart showing the utilization percentage for each tracked well. Color coding matches the threshold levels:

  • Green — Below 80% utilization
  • Amber — Between 80% and 89% utilization
  • Red — 90% or above

Predictive Alerts

At the bottom of the dashboard, the Predictive Alerts section shows wells that are projected to exceed their authorized limits based on current trends. Each alert includes:

  • Well name and API number
  • Lead time — How many days until the projected breach (highlighted in red for immediate issues, amber for near-term, and blue for longer-term)
  • Reason — A plain-language explanation of why the alert was generated
  • Current daily volume and authorized maximum
  • Projected breach date
  • Action button — “Initiate R-32 Renewal” takes you to the Conversations page to start working with the Rule 32 agent

Predictive alerts with a lead time of 0 days (labeled “Immediate”) indicate that flaring is currently occurring without an approved authorization. This is a compliance violation that requires urgent action.

Logging Events

The Log an Event button in the dashboard header lets you record flaring-related events (such as an unplanned flare, equipment malfunction, or authorization renewal) without leaving the dashboard.
