Entity Explorer

The Entity Explorer (labeled Entity Explorer in the sidebar) is where you browse, search, and manage all the entities in your portfolio — wells, facilities, leases, equipment, pipelines, and more.

Screenshot placeholder — to be added in a future update.

Accessing the Entity Explorer

Click Entity Explorer in the sidebar. The page opens with a tab bar at the top for switching between entity types and a data table below showing the entities for the selected type.

Entity Type Tabs

Along the top of the page, tabs let you switch between different entity types. Common tabs include:

  • Well — Your wells, the most commonly viewed entity type
  • Facility — Processing facilities, compressor stations, tank batteries
  • Lease — Oil and gas leases
  • Equipment — Field equipment
  • Pipeline — Pipeline routes
  • Infrastructure — A tree view showing how entities are connected hierarchically

The available tabs depend on which entity types have been configured in your system. If there are more types than fit in the tab bar, a More dropdown appears to access the overflow tabs.

Each tab shows a count of entities when data has been loaded.

Wells Table

When the Well tab is selected, you see a table with the following columns:

ColumnWhat It Shows
Well NameThe name of the well
API NumberThe 14-digit unique well identifier
TypeWell type (for example, oil, gas, injection)
DistrictRRC district number
CountyTexas county
Depth (ft)Total measured depth in feet
StatusCurrent well status (active, inactive, plugged, etc.) with color-coded badge
ComplianceA mini compliance bar showing status across domains (green, amber, red segments)

Searching Wells

Use the search box above the table to filter by well name, API number, county, or other text. Results update in real time as you type.

Sorting

Click any column header to sort the table by that column. Click again to reverse the sort direction. You can sort by multiple columns by holding the appropriate modifier key.

Column Visibility

You can show or hide columns to customize your view. Use the column visibility control in the table toolbar to toggle specific columns on or off.

Other Entity Types

When you select a tab other than “Well,” the table adapts to show columns relevant to that entity type. Column definitions are driven by the field schema configured for each type, and typically include:

  • Name — The display name of the entity
  • Status — If the entity type has a status field
  • Parent — The parent entity in the hierarchy (for example, a well’s parent lease)
  • Custom fields — Additional fields marked for display in the list view

Well Detail Page

Click any well row to open its detail page. The detail page includes:

A scrollable list of all wells in your portfolio, allowing you to quickly switch between wells without going back to the main list.

At the top of the detail view, a breadcrumb shows “All Wells / Well Name” with a back arrow to return to the full list.

Well Header

Key well information at a glance — well name, API number, status, operator, and quick-action buttons for opening related conversations or logging events.

Production History Chart

A chart showing the well’s production history over the past 12 months, making trends immediately visible.

Detail Sections

Below the chart, expandable sections provide deep information about the well:

  • Properties — All well data fields (coordinates, depths, formation, etc.)
  • Compliance — Compliance status across all domains
  • Events — History of compliance-relevant events for this well
  • Filings — Past and current filings associated with this well
  • Relationships — A graph visualization showing how this well connects to leases, operators, fields, and other entities
  • Connected Facilities — Facilities and infrastructure linked to this well

Infrastructure Tree

The Infrastructure tab shows a hierarchical tree view of your entities, illustrating how they relate to each other. For example, a project might contain facilities, which contain wellpads, which contain wells.

This view is useful for understanding the organizational structure of your operations and quickly navigating to entities at different levels of the hierarchy.

Adding Entities

Click the Add Entity button in the top-right corner of the Entity Explorer to create a new entity. A dialog will appear where you can:

  1. Select the entity type
  2. Fill in the required and optional fields
  3. Choose a parent entity (if applicable)
  4. Save the new entity
